Backend Engineer, Senior

Location: United States (Remote)

Compensation: $175,000 - $210,000

Overview

This role focuses on building and scaling systems that support cryptocurrency portfolio tracking and tax compliance solutions. The platform helps individuals and businesses understand their crypto portfolios, stay compliant with regulations, and make informed financial decisions. Users track over $50 billion in assets across hundreds of exchanges and thousands of cryptocurrencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop new features, integrations, and back-end services.
• Design scalable systems to support millions of users.
• Own and deliver high-level product and engineering goals.
• Collaborate across teams to improve product functionality.
• Build and maintain blockchain and exchange integrations, including DeFi categorization and data enrichment.
• Influence the technical roadmap with domain and engineering expertise.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience, ideally in data engineering or the crypto/finance domain.
• Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals — algorithms, data structures, and system design.
• Proven experience designing and scaling production systems.
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with GCP or AWS.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work during core hours (9 AM–12 PM PT / 12–3 PM ET).
