Account Manager (Client Success & Renewals)

Location: Remote or Chattanooga, TN

Reports To: CEO

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $40,000 – $50,000 base salary + bonus potential


Overview

A growing compliance and education services organization is seeking a proactive, relationship-driven Account Manager to oversee client renewals and ensure long-term satisfaction. This role focuses on managing institutional clients, maintaining strong relationships, identifying upsell opportunities, and delivering exceptional service. By supporting existing accounts, the Account Manager enables the sales team to focus on new business and strategic growth.


Key Responsibilities

Client Retention & Renewals

  • Manage a portfolio of Community Partner accounts and oversee all renewal activity.
  • Proactively engage with clients before renewal dates to address questions and ensure smooth renewals.
  • Maintain high client satisfaction and retention through consistent communication and relationship management.

Upselling & Growth

  • Identify and develop upsell opportunities such as additional training, policy toolkits, and online learning offerings.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to create tailored proposals that meet client needs.
  • Track and manage upsell pipeline, contributing to overall revenue growth goals.

Client Success & Engagement

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, ensuring they maximize the value of services.
  • Support onboarding and orientation for new clients as needed.
  • Gather client feedback to inform service improvements and product development.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams to provide a seamless client experience.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, renewal timelines, and upsell opportunities in CRM (HubSpot preferred).
  • Report on retention, upsell metrics, and client health trends to leadership.


Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in account management, client success, or inside sales (experience in education, legal, or SaaS industries a plus).
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple accounts simultaneously.
  • Skilled in conducting renewal conversations and identifying upsell opportunities.
  • Experience with HubSpot or other CRM systems preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required (education, business, or legal studies preferred).
