Location: Carlsbad, California (mostly on-site with some flexibility)

Salary: $125,000 – $155,000 base

This is an opportunity to join a well-established litigation team handling complex, high-exposure defense matters. You’ll work closely with experienced trial attorneys, gain meaningful courtroom exposure, and take ownership of substantive case work while still having strong team support.

What You Will Do

• Handle defense litigation matters from pre-trial through trial
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, briefs, and other legal documents
• Attend court hearings, depositions, mediations, trials, and client meetings
• Analyze legal issues and contribute to case strategy
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff on active matters
• Manage cases with increasing independence
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and internal teams
• Support client relationships and overall case outcomes

What We’re Looking For

• JD from an accredited law school
• Active California Bar license
• 3+ years of litigation experience
• Experience in medical malpractice defense and/or general liability defense preferred
• Strong understanding of state and federal court procedures
• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
• Confident oral advocacy, deposition, and communication skills
• Professional, team-oriented approach
