What You'll Do
- Conduct client consultations and advise individuals and families on customized estate planning strategies
- Draft, review, and oversee:
- Wills
- Revocable and irrevocable trusts
- Powers of attorney
- Advance healthcare directives
- Asset protection and related planning documents
- Guide clients through the estate planning process from initial consultation through execution and follow-up
- Build trusted relationships with clients and professional referral sources
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure exceptional client service and efficient workflow
- Help strengthen and scale the estate planning practice through:
- Process improvements
- Standard operating procedures
- Service delivery enhancements
- Partner with firm leadership and marketing teams on:
- Client education initiatives
- Community outreach
- Seminar-based business development efforts
- Mentor junior attorneys and staff as the department continues to grow
- Stay current on developments in estate planning, tax law, elder law, and asset protection strategies
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active New Jersey Bar admission required
- 2+ years of focused estate planning experience
- Strong experience drafting:
- Wills
- Trusts
- Powers of attorney
- Advance directives
- Related estate planning documents
- Experience conducting client consultations and providing strategic legal guidance
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and client service skills
- Strong organizational and practice management abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively while taking ownership of client matters
Preferred Qualifications
- New York Bar admission
- WealthCounsel experience
- Experience with asset protection planning, elder law, or advanced estate planning strategies
